Brand USA, the destination marketing organization for United States organized India travel mission. The organization mission is to promote USA tourism. Also, to increase the international visitation to UAS in order to fuel the US Economy. This year 64 delegates from 42 US companies, representing USA attraction, destination, hotels and operators traveled to Bengaluru, Mumbai and New Delhi shared information and tips on visiting the USA.
Brand USA’s President & CEO Chris Thompson presenting at the 2018 India Travel Mission was delighted to share that India ranks eleventh by arrival numbers in the U.S. and ranks sixth in terms of visitor spends in the USA.

It was quiet an interactive session with Lindsay Hill. She introduced me to the best of DC. The government is putting dollars to renovate and design, create new options for the people. The Wharf waterfront project will transform the southwest DC along the Protomac river and the area would include the best of hotels, offices, residential, retail and cultural space. Phase 1 opened in 2017 and the project will be completed in 2020.
Another, interesting fact about the Audi fields at the Washington DC is that the professional soccer team has a new state of art stadium at Buzzard Point in Southwest with seat capacity of 20,000 and includes 31 luxury suits, bike valet plus 500,000 square feet of mixed use area for retails and residential space.
The government is also developing this beautiful place with Museum and monuments. So, this was all about entertainment. Now, the food in Washington DC. You will be surprised to know that there are 16 restaurants in DC area that have earned highly coveted Michelin stars.

Fairfax Country, Virginia
Another interesting place is Fairfax Country, Virginia. It was once home to the first president of the U.S. Mount Vernon. The tour to the estate, distillery gristmill will leave you wanting for more. The best place to visit in Virginia is the National Air & Space Museum. The museum houses most famous air crafts, space artifacts and spacecrafts in the world.
Also, if you are not a museum person then Virginia got Wolf trap for you. It is the national park that offers concerts for every music lover. Party under the sky in summers or cozy up in winters at barns.

I met Jun Watanabe at the Brand USA India Travel Mission event. She introduced one of the most fascinating place the California Academy of Sciences. It is a science museum and educational institution located in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park where science becomes sensory as you experience and explore natural wonders through a variety of interactive experiences. Not to miss is that every Thursday night the academy transforms into San Fransisco’s most popular cultural spot.
